Oliver P. Everson, oldest son of William A. and Mary Catherine Everson was born in Montgomery County Indiana Dec 4, 1877 died March 14, 1942 aged 64 years. He was married to Della L. Hoss also of Montgomery County Aug 31, 1906. To this union four children were born, Clair and Stephen who died in childhood, Gordon Everson and Mrs. Gladys Everson Baldwin both of this city. He was a self-made man. After graduating from Crawfordsville HS he attended State Normal and later attended State Normal and later attended business college graduating in both of his branches in 1904 then taught in the county school during the years 1900-1908 then served as deputy county treasurer from 1908-1914, then was county treauser to 1917. He was then appointed field examiner on the state board of accounts on March 4, 1924 and served in that capacity until the time of his death. He was a prosperous business man a member of the 1st Christian Church and POS of A Order. His death caused by a complication of diseases, came as a shock to his many friends as his illness was of only 8 days' duration. Funeral services were held at the Hunt & Son Funeral Parlors March 16th at 2 p.m. Rev. Million of the First Christian Church officiating. Mrs. Elston Elmore and Harold Everson accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Roy Trout sang Sometime We'll Understand and Abide With Me. Pall bearers were Frank Bennett, Clay Rice, John Rice, Edgar A. Rice, Orville Hoss and Walter Hoss. Flower bearers were Mildred Stuckler, Charlotte Wheeler, Mr. and Mrs. David Bonwell, Mrs. Helen Keller, Mrs. Ila Armentrout, Mrs. George Douglas, Mrs. Edith Ford, Mrs. Sam Boots, Mrs. Meredith Husted, Mrs. Helen Schaaf, Reba Rice, Marilee Peterson, Mary Isabel Ward, Nellie Hauk, Mary Baldwin, Will Etter, Isaac Hoss and John Etter. Survivors besides the two named children are the widow and three granddaugters. Burial was made at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Oliver Perry Everson, 64 Examiner of the State Board of Accounts and former county Treasurer died at Culver Hospital Saturday morning at 2 o'clock. Mr. Everson, member of a pioneer Montogmery county family had been ill for only about 8 days. The immediate cause of death was pneumonia. In his early life, after his graduation from Crawfordsville HS he attended the old Terre Haute Normal school and later was a teacher in various schools in the county. He was elected county treasurer on the Democratic ticket and served two terms from 1914-1917. He later was associated with local financial institutions until his appointement to the board of accounts post in 1924. He was born in this county the son of William A. and Mary Catherine Everson. His marriage to Della Hoss took place here many years ago. Mr. Everson a member of the First Christian Church and of the POSA Lodge. The survivors include the wife; one son, Gordon Everson; a daughter, Mrs. Harold Baldwin and 3 grandchildren all of whom live at Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be held at Hunt & Son Funeral Home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Paul E. Million pastor of the First Christian Church, in charge. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
